ThinkTank
A system-wide inbox for thoughts, ideas, and reminders. When something crosses your mind, press one keystroke, write it down, and come back to it when you have time.
How it works
Mid-something. ⌥Space, and type.
3. Method
We consider a frozen encoder f and measure the shift in correspondence accuracy under cosmetic marker variants. Two readout modes are compared: a clean coordinate-only pass, and a marked pass in which the marker is rendered into the image before encoding.
Across all variants the encoder’s attention concentrates on the marker rather than the referent, which suggests the benchmark measures marker salience at least as much as it measures grounding.
Why I built it
Throughout the day, I have thoughts I genuinely want to return to: a startup idea, a research direction, a paper I want to investigate, or a reminder to move my laundry to the dryer. They usually appear while I’m doing something else, and by the time I’m free, I’ve forgotten them. I wanted one place where I could capture anything immediately and trust that I would find it again when I could actually do something about it.
What it does
- Press ⌥Space from anywhere, type your thought, and press Return. The whole thing takes a few seconds.
- Add a time if you want ThinkTank to turn it into a reminder and notify you later.
- Ideas, things to investigate, and everyday tasks all go into the same place.
- Look back through everything you’ve captured instead of trying to remember what once crossed your mind.
Use it if interesting thoughts come to you at inconvenient times and you don’t want them to disappear before you can act on them.
